About

Hello! I’m Keri Daniels, a digital designer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am so glad you have found my website and are learning more about Kind Words Count. One thing to know about me is that my grandmother, Marguerite Pearl Daniels, was the kindest person I have ever known! I am so lucky to have had that kindness impressed upon me at an early age. And now I get to pass it on to others through my art.

Inspiration

The inspiration for Kind Words Count began when my dearest friend (the second nicest person I’ve ever known) was diagnosed with cancer. Soon after her diagnosis, we were on one of our many long walks and she talked about positivity and her desire to have positive thoughts surrounding her during this uncertain time. Many of her friends also reached out to me and asked how they could support her and my response was “she wants positive thoughts.” So, it got me thinking and I began my own project for her. I painted her the first set of Kind Words Count cards full of positive thoughts. My friend hung the cards on her dresser and often told me how she would read them as she went to bed at night and in the morning before she started her day. They became an important part of her journey through treatment and she and her cousin encouraged me to start selling them to others. At the time it seemed unrealistic since each hand painted set took about four hours to complete, but after doing some research, I learned how to recreate them digitally. And here we are now – I am thrilled to be able to have people, like you, give these cards to their loved ones who may need a bit of positivity and kindness in their lives.

Today

I have had so much fun letting my creative side take over after many years in the corporate world. I have three amazing grown children who I cherish and two adorable pups who have been by my side during the creation of Kind Words Count. And I can’t forget my friend, Maria, who inspired this journey. She is a lifetime friend, amazing neighbor, and longtime business partner who inspires me every day!

I hope that you are inspired to give someone you care about a message of encouraging words and continued support.
